Risk factors rarely travel alone. Inactivity, diet quality, weight, and stress often reinforce each other. That is why “one change at a time” still helps — improving sleep or walking daily can nudge several markers in a better direction.
Know your numbers (blood pressure, lipids, glucose). Move most days. Prioritise vegetables, fibre, and lean protein while trimming ultra-processed defaults. If you smoke, quitting is still the highest-impact step available. Work with your GP on targets that fit your history — especially if you already take heart medication.
